Built by lawyers
Our team is led by Aimee and Amanda, experienced lawyers who are deeply committed to access to justice, community building, and helping people solve everyday legal problems. Having seen firsthand the challenges ordinary people face in accessing reliable legal services, they founded Jointly to create more affordable, accessible solutions for everyone.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between prenuptial, postnuptial, and cohabitation agreements?
Prenuptial, cohabitation, and marriage agreements are three different types of agreements that couples can consider, each serving a similar purpose. The reason you may choose one over the other depends on the status of your relationship. Check out this article for more information.
What do I need to get started?
You can get started on our course with just a computer and an internet connection! When you’re ready to start building your agreement, you’ll need a list of all of your property and debts – but we’ve built a worksheet to help take you through that.
Will I need to see a lawyer?
In most provinces, you can complete the entire process online without visiting a lawyer, although having independent legal advice on your final agreement may make it stronger. Some provinces require you to have a lawyer provide you with a certificate of independent legal advice. If that’s the case for your province, we’ll tell you that in the course.
Is my relationship a good fit for Jointly?
We have built Jointly to fit as many people as possible. If you are in a relationship with only one other person and your property consists of typical asset classes (real estate, investment accounts, a small business), Jointly is a fit for you! Some examples of when Jointly is not a good fit include if you or your partner own property on a reserve, or you’re in a polyamorous relationship. Check out our screening tool to find out more about whether Jointly will work for you!
Is Jointly available in my province?
Right now, Jointly is only available to Ontario residents. Legal services in Canada are provincially regulated. We are working with legal regulators across the country to bring Jointly to as many Canadians as possible, as soon as we can! Sign up for our waitlist to be notified when we’re available in your province, or follow us on Instagram!
What Customers are Saying
Jointly made creating a relationship agreement and prenup feel approachable and stress-free. The platform is incredibly easy to navigate and removed the usual barriers that typically stop couples from going through this process—no legal confusion, just clear, thoughtful guidance. Creating a relationship agreement (and prenup) felt like a natural, empowering conversation rather than a legal hurdle. Highly recommend to any couple wanting to start their next chapter with clarity and confidence
My partner and I are very pleased, and my lawyer was quite impressed after reviewing the agreement. He could not believe we drafted it ourselves! The different modules are extremely helpful and appropriately explained, making the process very straightforward.
My husband and I made an agreement through Jointly. The process is easy, and very straightforward. It allowed us to discuss different scenarios that we had never thought about before. I would definitely recommend Jointly to anyone!
